Riding For Repsol Honda Is A Big Challenge- Is Joan Mir At The Peak Of Joining Honda: MotoGP

After quoting “Inside My Heart I Will Always Be A Suzuki Rider,” Joan Mir has given one of the biggest indications of joining Repsol Honda.

With only one race to go before the Summer break, the 2020 MotoGP champion’s future is anticipated to be decided very soon. All the signs pointing toward him is suggesting that he might join the most successful manufacturer in MotoGP history, Honda.

Mir, who crashed out on Sunday’s German MotoGP race, has always struggled for a form after Suzuki announced its discontinuation of MotoGP at the end of the season.

Although both Mir and Alex Rins were title contenders moving towards Le Mans, three crashes in four races have completely derailed his hopes. His recent DNF came as a result of small contact with Miguel Oliveria. However, the consequences were far from small.

He said that the team decided to go out with the hard rear tire instead of the medium. However, in the early laps, he didn’t have any feelings. He was expecting that the feeling will eventually arrive with the passing of more laps and that the tire will be got up with the temperature. However, he still didn’t feel anything even after moving a couple of laps.

He said that he had close contact with another rider, and then he went wide and lost the front. He is feeling shame but ensures that this disappointment won’t ruin his optimism and working spirit. He is feeling quite better with the bike and will continue pushing for Assen.

Although he was feeling good about his GSX-RR, he will enjoy the rest of the season riding for Suzuki.

While talking to ITV, Mir was asked about switching his team and whether the situation is a bit scary for him as he was with Suzuki from the day he joined MotoGP in 2019. He replied that he is a bit scared. But he is quite sure that he will find harmony and feeling within his team. He said that from within, he will always going to be a Suzuki rider.

Will The Harmony Mir Is Talking About Come At Honda Alongside Six-Time MotoGP Champion, Marc Marquez?

After choosing not to comment on his future for several weeks, Mir has given the biggest indication of all time stating that he could join Repsol Honda.

Asking about being a teammate of Marquez, he said that it is not easy to team with Marquez and a vast challenge to ride for Honda. However, it is arduous for every rider in the paddock. It is not a bad option. He concluded the statement by saying that Marz is a rider whom he can learn the most from.

Instead of holding the most successful manufacturer of MotoGP and the attractive option for many riders, especially the one who wants to secure their seat, the struggle is really worrying.

Without Marquez, Honda is nowhere in Sachsenring. The team was also suffering after Pol Espargaro retired due to fitness issues, Alex Marquez suffered a ride-height problem, Takaki Nagakaami crashed out, and Stefan Bradl was running Moto2 lap times at the back of the field.
